Advice was received to-day of the death of Mr. K, li. (Howley) Marpny. al Waipaii this afternoon. I hr adjourned meeting of creditors in the estate of .Malcolm Philip McPherson, bankrupt lorry driver, was continued his afternoon, there being present Messrs. .1. X. Nalder (Ollicial Assignee). K. A. Woodwitrd (1 ('presenting the bankrupt), 1,. T. llurnard (representing Messrs. ( .) Walsh and (A <l. Ancell), and the h.'inkrnpt. The latter produced a hook showing his income and expenditure over a perio 1 not covered by the entries in his bank book, and stated that lie had not been aware of (he necessity for keeping books from which be could learn his exact position at any time. Tlu> further examination of the bankrupt failed to elicit any additional information on th> disbursal of moneys received iiy him. but lie maintained that lie had been unable, to earn the amounts be bad expected, owing solely to bis truck breaking down.
