OXFORD'S EARLY LEAD (British Official Wireless. 1 Ree. noon. ITUGRV. April 13. The boat race was rowed in a .strong south-westerly wind. The Surrey side »ave Oxford a considerable advantage. At two miles Cambridge had slightly decreased Oxford's lead, and at the Two Doves the crews were again level. At Chiswick Ryot, Oxford led by half a length. At Duke's Meadows Oxford were still half :T length ahead; but at three miles the crews were again level. At Devonshire Meadows, Cambridge led slightly, and at Hulls Head thrco-ipinrter.s of a length in .front, At White Hart, Cambridge led by one long] ii. Oxford tried to reduce the lend, bill Cambridge went further ahead by .increasing their stroke, and al Mortlaku brewery they were a good two lengths ahead. 'The official time was llMnin, laser.
