LAND SPEED RECORD
KAYE DON'S POSITION WAITING FOR GOOD BEACH NEW YORK, April 11. Kaye Don denies that he has given up attempts on the land speed record at Daytona Peach, but there is a. well delined feeling here that yesterday's attempt is his last for the season. Don has reservations on the Aquitania for April 16, and it is understood a conference will be held to-night, at which Don will be requested to state his exact intentions before interested persons. Warren Baker, course steward and representative of the American Automobile Association, stated : "1. am ready to assume full responsibility for keeping Don off the beach since he himself inspected the beach and ruled it unsafe." Asked if he proposed to make another attempt to-morrow. Don replied: "I have been waiting for a good beach for the car is ready, but I will not stay here until Christmas. 1 have a party at home then."
