CAMPAIGN A FAILURE EXTREMISTS ACTIVE (Klee. Tel. Copyright—United Press (Received April 14, 10 a.m.) DELHI, April 13. After a week's campaign it is evident that Mr. Gandhi has not achieved his object, and bis failure to rouse the whole country at the launching of bis movement created dismay in the congress ranks. Two bomb explosions occurred at Bombay, one in a local railway tram and the other in a, wailing room at Byculla, railway station. Iwo Indians were seriously injured. A young Mahominedau has been arrested for alleged complicity. Agitators in Calcutta are trying a new device to harass the Government and customs. In addition to oitering for public sale small packets of 'contraband sail., extremists read at public meetings extracts from seditious literature whicii already has been proscribed by the Government. In a.- slafrp clash between police and students, 13 were injured and 30 arrests were made. Sengupta, Mayor of Calcutta, was again arrested on a charge ot publicly reading prossribed literature. A mob in Bombay attacked a police van carrying prisoners sentenced lor offences against the salt law. ■ Ten persons were injured.
