"The offence was a very serious one," said Mr. J. 11. Salmon," S.M. "This man is suspected by the police of being a. 'Peeping Tom.'" Said Sergeant Henry. "He is about at all hours of tho night, and we suspect that on this occasion he was following his usual practice of peeping through windows of lighted houses. He seems a strange sort of man, and when he gets a drop of liquor it seems to assist him in committing these offences." Tho man appeared to be subnormal in some ways, said counsel, and the effect of drink on him seemed much greater than on a. normal man. "It seems to mo that if the man is subnormal when under tho influence of liquor he would do better to leave the liquor alone. This offence is a very serious one," said the Magistrate.
