SERIOUS CHARGE
JOCKEY ARRESTED (For Pros* Association.) HAMILTON, this day. A jockey. Haiide James Regan, 22, was remanded on a charge of a serious oll’enee againsf a girl. A pedestrian walking along Ward street at 1. o'clock on Sunday morning heard a scream at a vacant section. He went to the spot where lie saw the man and girt struggling. The man to)d the newcomer lie would “clean him lip" if ho remained. The visitor then got the assistance of a taxi driver and found the girl unconscious on the ground, the man having decamped. There were signs of a struggle. The girl was taken to hospital unconscious, but had improved to-day. Kogan was remanded in custody till April 30.
