FLYING BOAT’S FEAT
LOOPED THE LOOP LONDON, April 2. A remarkable incident occurred in tho early stage of tho trials of the robot pilot which was being tested in a. supermarine Napier Hying boat at Southampton. This ‘'mechanical man.” which takes complete charge ol the living boat and can correct the effect of wind gusts and air pockets, apparently was working perfectly when the pilot lelt the cockpit tor a. few moments and went* back to i.lio body of the boat,. While he was there the robot, was in complete charge and something cent amiss. '1 lie Hying boat looped the loop and then resumed its course on a level keel. The feat of looping the loop with a big living bout is extremely difficult, and is rarely, if ever, attempted by a human pilot.
