TREASURER OPTIMISTIC CANBERRA, April 10. Mr. Theodore, Federal Treasurer, in a statement on the loan position, said that of the £60.000,000 conversion loan maturing next December only £18,000,was now required. This was very gratifying, and provided a definite answer to the suggestion that Australia might have to seek overseas help in this connection. Ho added : “In addition, we have fully covered the March conversion, which is greatly over-subscribed. Facts like these help to enhance the credit of Australia.’*
