Two years’ imprisonment with hard labor was imposed on Frederick Rusting, 3(i, when he appeared in the Hamilton Supreme Court on a charge of issuing a valueless cheque for £7. It was stated that the accused had a long list of previous convictions. Mr. Justice Smith remarked that the accused had been living a life of crime since 11*24. As far hack as 11)17 there were convictions against him. If he was again convicted he would he declared an habitual criminal.
