DIVER’S TRAGIC FATE
A thrilling story of a diver’s death comes from Alontryal. A Danish diver had been working on I lie construction of a, power dam near Quebec. Some accident happened during a- descent on a, Monday.
He was unable to return to the surface, t hough bis air-tube and lifeline were neither choked nor tangled. He was supplied with oxygen, and continued signalling to the workers above till early on the Wednesday morning, wjien the signals ceased, lie thus lived two days in that awful prison. Frantic efforts were made by aeroplane to reach the spot from Quebec, despite an appalling snowstorm. Ihe aeroplane carried two special divers, and after a severe struggle in the air, they managed! to reach the spot. but, on descending, found that Trans was dead.
