1000 YEARS’ LOAN
BANKERS LENDING £2,800,000 BERLIN. Feb. 2. A loan which is to be redeemed after a lapse of .1000 years—in the year 2930 —has just caused a sensation in the, German financial world. The loan, which is for £2.800,000, is being granted bv the American hanking firm "of Dillon Read Corporation (New York) to the Siemens and .Halske- Go., 1 of Berlin, the great German electrical engineering concern. The ?\v Siemens’ debentures, which will 1m issued in Amsterdam, New York and Berlin, will, it is reported, he takeir up by the General Electric. Co., of New York, the great American rivals of the Siemens concern. The debentures will receive the official dividend rate of interest, blit are guaranteed a minimum of 6 per cent.
