According to Dr. Doris Gordon, secretary of the Obstetrical Society, Canterbury district is now leading in the collections for the “Mothers’ Chair.’’ Its quota is £SOCO and only £175 is now needed to complete it. Reports from Wellington district show that £6700 is in hand there, leaving a deficit of £BOO. There is a small deficit in the Manawatu and Hawke’s Bay districts, but special efforts are being made in these areas to complete the tall quotas. Interim reports show that Auckland City and suburbs have £SOOO in hand, but the provincial returns will not be available until the third week in April.
