Adams, West, Const, referred to the growth ol the game in Australia, where, alter 15 years, tho All Blacks played a niateh against Australia, and the Commonwealth team was to he congratulated on winning the rubber. In Xew Zealand, the game was continuing in its popularity, and the parent liodv was performing a useful service in lending money to unions at a low rate of interest to assist in the purchase and improvement of grounds. I nfortunatelv. some unions were •behind in their payments, and in not keeping the terms of the* mortgage were doing an injustice to other 1 unions desiring loans. The. finances of the union were in_ a sound condition, and a profit of £616 4s had been made oil the year's workings. The outstanding feature this year would lie the visit of the British team, which would he (lie first tor 26 years. It was regretted that S'eotland had only one representative in the team, and the altitude of the Scottish union to overseas 1 ea ll is was hard to understand. It was hoped that the Home unions would have agreed to a conleience on rules and oilier international matters during the forthcoming tour, hut apparently they were not- favorably inclined to the suggestion. Invitations had been sent to oilier nvefseas unions, and tip to (he present Panada and Australia had accepted. No reply had yet been received from South Africa, lie hoped that they would give careful consideration to the oucstioii of broadcasting the mate-lies.
