TRIBUTE TO MINISTER

The Labor member lor Raglan, Mr. Lee Martin, despita the criticism levelled at him in a certain Labor journal lor bis eulogy of the Minister of Public Works, is not detened from voicing his honest opinion, and giving credit where credit is due. Last night, speaking at the Raglan Town Hall, on the occasion of the visit of the Minister of Kducatiou, the Hon. 11. Almore. he paid a tribute to him, describing him as one of the best .Ministers of Kducation New Zealand bad ever had. The speaker said he must be fair :.\m\ honest when speaking of the work which Mr. Almore bad accomplished not only in connect ion with improvements in the education system and his efforts to retard the drift to towns, but also, for what he was doing as Minister m charge of the Department of Scientific and Ii duslria] Research. Mr. Martin said he would make bold to say if the. work done by officers detailed by the 'Minister to investigate the problem of cattle sickness, which was prevalent in so many districts in the Auckland province, was brought to a successful conclusion.
