OBITUARY
MRS. KATHERINE BURKE Alucli regret was caused among the residents of Patutalii this morning by tlie announcement of the death of Mrs. Katherine Burke, relict of the late Mr. Patrick Burke, and a well-known resident of that community. The deceased lady luid reached the advanced age of 77 years, and since, the death of her husband some seven years ago had been progressively indisposed, her illness becoming serious recently. Born in County Roscommon, Ireland, the late Mrs. Burke did not come to New Zealand until well into middle age, having been married in Ireland, hut though she retained the fondest attachment For her homeland, her ready adoption of New Zealand standards was one of the charnel eristics that endeared her to tier friends. Deceased is survived bv a son and a (humbler, Mr. >l. Burke and Mrs. W. F. Hickman, both of whom reside in Poverty Bay. The funeral will lake place to-morrow morning at Patutalii cemetery.
