The timber for the repair of the Alotu Falls bridge has been ordered by the Qpotiki County Council, The work will ho put in hand as soon as possible. Although last Friday’s earthquake in Gisborne was severe enough to cause a little temporary alarm and was the worst for years, it was not regarded as anything of a sensational nature.. At Rore, however, one household was more than usually alarmed, for the shake brought down a considerable amount of a cliff face with a. resounding crash. It, was estimated that about half nit aero of ihe surface above the cliff disappeared.
