North Otago lias experienced another week of very dry weather and the decided lack of moisture is beginning to worry the farmers, especially those whose root crops arc suffering. Most of the ironwork and machinery is on the ground for the new screens afc the (lien Alton, Waikato, collieries, ami the foundation l.loeks of cement, are being erected. When completed this mine, will lie able to screen ICOO tons ot coal a day.
