WHARF MISHAP
HUANUI DAMAGED BOWSPRIT THROUGH SHED While berthing at the Haiti basin wharf this afternoon the auxiliary-en-gined ketch. Iltianui became involved in a mishap which may put the vessel out of eominission for some time. While approaching the wharf the vessel overshot the mark, and her bowsprit, extending over the wharf, speared the cargo shed and tore a gaping hole, in I lie wall of the hitter, before the bowsprit of llic. ketch snapped olf ahold half way down the shank. The incident. caused much excitement on the waterfront.
There was no damage to the hull of tln> Htianui. but the wharf, which was struck by the shank of the bowsprit, suffered to some extent, and one door of the cargo shed was also damaged.
