UNEMPLOYED RELIEF STATEMENT BY MINISTER (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. At a farewell to Mr. Andrew Collins, one of New Zealand’s founders of trade unionism, the lion. W. A. Veiteh said a board had been set up at his instigation to investigate unemployment and make recommendations, lie had drawn up a scheme, which Cabinet approved, and which would he published shortly, lie considered it would do much to relieve the unemployment problem, and “we can improve on it,” but it was impossible to devise a scheme which would appeal to everyone as perfect.
