POVERTY BAY TITLES In order to enable the Poverty Bay amateur athletic track championships to be, completed Ibis week, two events, the live-mile cycle and three-mile Hat, were held at the reserve on Saturday afternoon. 11. I!. Fisken, poverty Bay and Hawke’s Bay champion middle-distance runner, won the three-mile race by a comfortable margin, while Thornloy Campbell defeated P. McMahon, last year’s champion cyclist, by three-quar-ters of a length in a close finish. Results - 3-mile Flat Championship. 11. It. Fisken 1 R. Sealy 2 Also started: W. Williamson, M. P. Sheridan, It. Quinn, and It. 11. Brown. Won by 200yds. Time, 17inin. 2-ssec. 5-milo Cycle Championship. T. Campbell 1 P. McMahon 2 Also started : F. Pollard, P. Markie, and A. F. Redmond. Won by threeqiutrlers of a length. Time, ldmin. 59 3-ssoe.
