Messrs. I). W. Coleman and A. E. Allen, of Gisborne, have been appointed members of the Transport Appeal Board, No. 3 motor omnihus district. An appeal has been lodged by a Gisborne bus service proprietor, but the date of the sitting of the board, of which the chairman will ho Mr. Justice 1 rszer. has not yet been fixed.

The Cinema people who are making a talkie film of Maori life down Taupo way are doing the thing pretty thoroughly, according to a Napier resident, who recently paid a visit to the camp. A very realistic pa had been erected oh a cliff face across the lake as a setting for the film, and arrangements were almost complete for the taking of the big “shots.” The camp, he said, was located in an. almost inaccessible spot, those working! thee having to secure supplies by launch, while the difficulties of transporting the filming apparatus were immense.
