CONCLUDING RESULTS The annual meeting of the Muriwai Sports Club was brought lo a. successful close on Saturday evening. Interest in the many keenly contested equestrian events was sustained to the finish. A number* of foot races were provided for tlie younger folk, Air. G. J. Black, of Gisborne, donating five watch chains for schoolboys’ events. Superb horsemanship was displayed in the horse competitions, and some spectacular performances were seen.
Concluding results are given below:— Horse most suitable for hunter (9 entries): Aliss H. Gadclurn 1, R. Fenton 2, J. Digram 3.
Potato race (6 entries): Ah Moore 1, . Gregory 2, R. Gilman 3. Open'flag race (4 entries): M. Moore 1. J. Jobson 2, R. Boyd 3. (> leu uimp (13 entries): J. Digram 1, R Ross*2. L. Woodward 3. Tlie names of Hie horses were not given in this event. Whip and bottle race (16 entries) : J. Jobson 1, ATcAllister 2. Consolation jumn (10 entries): At. Moore’s Downfall 1, AT.
