FATAL PARROT FEVER
TWO DOCTORS SUCCUMB ALL PRECAUTIONS FAIL (Received February 10, 11 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Feb. 9. Dr. William Royal Stokes and Dr. Harry Anderson, oflicials of the hygenic laboratory of the United States Public Health Service, who handled parrots afflicted with psittacosis, have died of the tevei'. Both took extreme precautions during their experiments. Nevertheless ffiey caught the malady and became desperately ill. Nine days following his first exposure, Dr. Anderson died.
