STATE AID WANTED
MARKETING OF WOOL (I'wr Press Association.) STRATFORD, last night. The following resolution was passed by the Whangamomoana branch of the Farmers' Union bad forwarded to the Prime .Minister: "In view of the recent slump in wool prices, this branch of the Farmers' Union urges (lie Government to call a conference of representatives of wool and stock agents, auctioneers, representatives of the Government and farmers to consider the advisability of assisting farmers who desire to hold their wool clips by way of making suitable advances against such wool. As the Rural Intermediate Credits Board lias the necessary machinery to undertake such a scheme immediately, the lioveiiiment should make every endeavour to equip the board with the necessary finance and power to enable the board to assist in the manner indicated at the earliest opportunity."
