WILKINS’ SILENCE
WHALER MAY SEARCH LONDON, Feb. 6. The. wireless operator aboard the steamer Melville received reports from Deception island that continuous attempts to communicate with Sir Hubert Wilkins had failed. There was an idea of sending a whaler in search of the William Scoresbv. The Melville is unable to proceed except in dire emergency, because tho surety of Kill men on the whaling stations depends on her. The last message from the William Scoresbv was received eight days ago.
