HUNGARY MYSTERY THEFT OF POISON (Received Feb. 3, 11 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 2. The Daily Telegraph's Budapest correspondent says the police at Szolnok are .investigating fresh allegations which are believed to be likely to reveal further "mass poisonings. The public prosecutor has ordered the arrest of a peasant, Julienne Nadas, who is charged with, poisoning his stepfather, Joseph Maiz.ik, a local magistrate., Nadas ordered Ms stepfather's coffin six months before his death. A post mortem revealed a large quantity of arsenic, differing from that employed by the murderess of the Theiss Valley. An alarming discovery was made also in another Hungarian town, Bokesosaba, that 191bs. of arsenic had disappeared from the hospital, four pounds of which were found in a sugar jar in a local shop. The rest has disappeared and lias not boon traced. * It is a mystery how the shopkeeper possessed such an enormous quantity of poison.
