CALIFORNIA'S PROBLEM NATIVES WANT INDEPENDENCE (Received February 3, 11 a.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 2. Delegations will leave shortly for Washington to ask tho Government to settle California's Filipino problem. The Labor leaders will ask that all Filipino immigration be excluded., A rival committee of Filipinos themselves, representing more than 00,000 at present living in California, will agree to accept exclusion if tho Philippines are given independence. They want home rule for Manila so badly that almost 00,000 will agree to return westward across the Pacific if America will withdraw from tho islands.
The Labor Union delegates will reply that if this is the price of ex. elusion they are quite willing to sec the Philippines secure independence.
