COMBINED XI V. TOKOMARU TUPARQA-RUATORIA SCOEE WIN Playing at Tokomaru Bay, a combined team from Tuparqa and Ruatoria registered a good win in a friendly match, proving a good deal stronger than was anticipated and carrying off the game by a margin of 15 runs after a hard tussle. Their fielding was particularly good, and in this respect they were considered much better than the home side, whose work in the field was at times weak.

The outstanding batsman of the visiting side was Peraf Hati, who made 40 and 44; 11. Akers also did well, registering 27 and 24. The visitors' first innings realised 114, G. Oates and W.i Gates sharing tho bowling honors with four wickets for 54 runs ajid five fior 35 respectively. Tokomaru's total was 71) in their first strike, G. Oates' 24 being the best individual tally. D. Grace took five wickets for 33, and Pera Hati five for 22. Hale 29; the innings closed for 124, jpst 15 short of the required number. Pera Hati again did the best'bowling for Tuparoa-Ruatoria, and took four wickets for 30 runs, while Mulligan took three for 30.
