Instructions to engage the Garrison Hall for the carnival dates in April were given to tho A. and P. Association’s secretary to-day, at a general meeting of tho association’s committee. Mr. J. Livers presided, in the absence of Mr. If. W. Coop, president, who was granted leave. It was -reported that circulars had been dispatched to all stock-owners in the district who might be interested in the proposal to commence building on tlio new showgrounds, the territory covered by the circulars being from Tokonmrti Bay to Wniroa. The advisability of inducing townspeople to take a personal interest, in the carnival was discussed, and the president and Mr. F. Tolerton were appointed a subcommittee to draft a circular in appropriate terms for distribution :in Gisborne. Numerous small matters wore dealt with by the crtniinittoe.
