TRIBAL UNREST
TROUBLE IN BULAWAYO DEFENCE FORCE CALLED OUT (Eloc. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assil.) (Received December 31, 2 p.m.) CAPETOWN, Dec. 30. The defence force at Bulawayo was called out during the week-end to quell a native tribal disturbance. The Matabeles resent the presence of Manicas in native locations, alleging that they are depriving them of jobs and interfering with their wives. The Aiatabeles organised an attack, which resulted in two deaths, two men being dangerously wounded, and 50 injured. Huts were demolished, and the. contents burnt. The outbreak was widespread, and the police were unable to co)>e with it. Europeans were not molested.
