ORMOND SPORTS

ADDITIONAL HANDICAPS \n attraction at the meeting to be held under the auspices of the Ormond Sports Club at Ormond Domain on Thursday will be the appearance of Kloyd Atkins, of U.S.A., who recently established a now Poverty Bay record (111 ft 7in) for ibrowing' the discus. Atkins has had wide experience in field events, and his performances against local amateurs at the Ormond meeting should create some interest. Situated on the banks of the Waipaoa River, the Ormond Domain provides adelightful picnic ground, and is well worth a visit on at count of its peaceful surroundings. Thursday's programme will include amateur running, cycle, and field events, horse competitions, and miscellaneous contests, all of which have. all raited strong support. Cups and trophies won at the meeting will be presented at a dance to be held in the Drintuid Hall on Thursday evening. Additional handicaps to those which appeared in yesterday's issue have been declared by the official handu upper, Mr, 0. McCoy, as under : Five-mile cycle handicap: A. Campbell scr., P. McMahon 25vds, F. Pollard 100yds, M. McMahon 290yds, N. Bai 450'vds, J. Taylor 660yds. High tump handicap: Floyd Atkins scr.. F. McDonald lin, A. D. Mollis 3in, N. Russell sin.

In addition to the events already published, the Ormond Sports 'Club is inviting entries for the Grant, Downie memorial handicap, to be run over 300yds. Post entries will be accepted for this event. No entrance fee will be charged.
