(Herald Correspondent.) I At morning service in SI. Andrew's Church on Sunday, Misses Edna and Liwen Milne sang a duet, and at the evening service Mr. Cwen Jones, of Auckland, a brother of Mr. .1. Jones, nl W'airoa, sang very acceptably. .Mrs. b\ Lunbert. received the sad intelligence on Saturday evening that her brother, James, had died suddenly l at his home at Grey Lynn at. noon. In the evening Mr. Milne preached on "The Church Triumphant." The following games resulted on the Wairoa bowling green on Saturday : Brown, PrebbSe and Macdonald 22, v. Pell, Noble, and Kendrew 17; Howard, Hill and Rutherford 26, v. Ingoo, Osier and Wilson 15; Stevens, Paterson and Theo. Browne 19, v. Ghristenson, Archibald and Anderson, 18. Everything promises well for the success of the Nunaka A. and P. Show on Wednesday. The entries are good and the interest keen. The Frasertown sports on Thursday should prove interesting if all tho nominators accept. At Christ Church, Frasertown, on Boxing Day, a wedding was celebrated which had a great interest for most of tho young people in tho district. The contracting parties were Mr. J. C. Braithwaite, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Braithwaite, of Port Chalmers, and Miss Doris Ellen Steed, eldest daughter of Mrs. A. G. Gunnel!, of Frasertown. Canon Butter-

field, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Hodgson, performed the nuptial ceremony, and there was a large attendance of the bride's friends. The bridesmaid was Miss Nell Steed, while Misses E. and K. Gunnel were flower girls. The bride, who was charmingly attiied, entered the church to the strains of the "Wedding March." The reception was held subsequently) when about 100 guests were present, and the healths of both bride and bridegroom were honored. The young people left later for the south.
