GOOD DEMAND AT HOME NEW MARKETS POSSIBLE (Per Press Association.) ACCKLAND, this day. According to Mr J. B. Mac Ewan, a dairy produce merchant of Wellington, who returned by the Aorangi on Sunday, the market lor Mew Zealand butter is extending, in spite of competition. Sales outside the London marKet are increasing, and there is a large market awaiting development in the north of England. Direct shipments would help to extend New Zealand markets in that quarter. Bolter and more regular shipping sources were necessary to keep New Zealand's primary products to the fore. Faster services might prove more costly, but Mr Mac Ewan thought regular' steamers running direct to the English market ports would prove of great assistance to exporters. If there were heavy exports from Australia a drop in prices would be likely, though there was very considerable goodwill towards .New Zealand's primary.products. It appeared to him that the New Zealand producers were not closely enough in touch with English requirements, principally in regard to tho texture and flavor of cheese. There was an. exceptionally good market tor cheese, but it must bo to the taste of tlie market. New Zealand frozen meat continued to meet with good demand.
