Reservoirs and waterholes have been replenished, and many millions of gallons Lave ibeen added to storages \ along the north and south railway. Washaways on the Quora-Alice Springs section caused serious damage to the line. The Onkaparinga river rose 12ft. during the night and many camping parties lost their outfits. DAMAGE TO RAILWAYS ■T SERVICES IMPOSSIBLE (Received Dec. 30, noon.) MELBOURNE, Dec. 30. Further reports of rains in Central Australia show that washaways at in* tervals extending over 450 miles of the north-south railway have made services impossible. All connection with settlements has been severed. Torrential rains caused floods unparalleled ill the history of the. railway. At Marrce, the foundation, of. the line was washed away-for several: : : miles. Many bridges have been de* stroved. . .
