AIR FORCE TRAGEDY
BURIAL OF VICTIMS CEREMONIAL IMPROBABLE (British Official Wireless.) Rec. noon. RLC.itV, Dec. 23. The Air Minister states that it had been proposed to have a joint luneral with lull Air Force ceremonial for Squad-ron-keader Jones-Williams and Flight. Lieutenant Jenkins, who lost -their live 6 in Tunis, while attempting to break the world's long-distance Hying record. The Air Council has, however, deferred to the wishes of the relatives of Squadron-Leader Jones-Williams, who desire that ho should be buried in the family burial ground at Hassocks, in Sussex. In view of this decision it has now been arranged that Lieutenant Jenkins will be buried in the Royal Air Force ground at Ipswich cemetery, where officers ofi the Royal Air Force stationed at the aeroplane and armament experimental establishment at Martlesham Heath, to which the deceased officer belonged, are normally interred. • There will accordingly be no ceremony when the bodies of the two officers arrive at Southampton. If the relatives agree the two officers will be buried with Air Force honors. The Air Council, air force commands, and units concerned will be officially represented, and hearer and firing parties will be provided by the service.
