TROOPS IN REVOLT
TROUBLE IN MACAO REBELS SURRENDER , HONGKONG, Dec. 24. Portuguese artillery mutinied in Montefort, Macao, on Sunday evening. At a preconcerted signal four fortresses were to have mutinied, and seized the town, but only one fort acted. One hundred and twenty men, led by a disaffected sergeant, ejectod the officers, and held two sergeants as hostages. On Monday morning the Macao Government sent an, ultimatum to the mutineers., giving them 24 hours in which to surrender. This morning the Government forces fired on the fort, employing artillery and machine guns. Half an hour later all had surrendered. The damage and casualties were unknown.
