"'During the wssion we have for the first time mad« an attempt to devise ja system by which tiio aptitudes of pupils might be better investigated, and 'guidance given to them and their parents re<, r ardiri£ their future occupation,"' reported Mr. J. H, Howell, director of the Wellington Technical College, at the prize-giving ceremony. "It has not yet been possible to apply the system to the whole school, and it is doubtful whether it. can profitably be dune to more than a small section unless a fulltime officer can be appointed; but. there can bo no doubt that the subject is of great importance, and if the staff work together and receive the support of employers much good will result."
