LOST AT SEA

News was received at Geraldton this morning oi the tragic fate of ttyo fishermen who were wrecked aboard the fishing -vessel Elenora, which was wrecked About 15 miles west of Port Gregory. • lYhe men who are missing, and who are presumed to have been drowned, are Bruer Soolsiiian,' 54, And Frederick Ericsson, 60. The third member of the crew, James Gourplay, said that about 4.30 o clock yesterday morning the vessel was struck by a strong north-west gale, was thrown on its side, and was swamped. Gourplay, who had dived ra an attempt to release the dinghy, swam around the Spot where the vessel sank for about 10 minutes, in the hope of catching a. glimpse of his two companions, who, it is believed, were unable to swim. He saw the ice-box ris© to the surface, and ' scrambled upon it. He failed to see anything of Soolsnian or Ericsson. Aftpr being severely buffeted by the waves throughout the c}ay, he was blown to the shore about i 6 miles north of Geraldton. At 8 o’clock yesterday evening ho started out for Geraidfon ,ahd arrived at the police station there at 11.45 pun. Mounted constables have set out in an endeavor to find the bodies of the missing men. • v - .. •• ---
