Miss M. Walton left for Wellington to day owing to a sudden family bereave ment.
The inspector of factories, Mr. John Jackson, left on annual leave yesterday, and is being relieved by Mr. C. B. Rawlins.
The Rev. H. W. Newell, of Coimbefore, South India, and Mr. G. W. Wiltshire, of Bulawayo, Rhodesia, are visiting Auckland. Mr. W. D. Lysnar, M.P., who has been visiting Wellington and Auckland, is expected to return to Gisborne this evening.
. Sir Apirana Ngata, accompanied by a number of natives from the East Coast and a contingent from- Rotorua, loft Rotorua on Saturday by the express for Ngaruawahia. Mr. P. A. Brailsford, of Hamilton, Ims been appointed tutor-organiser for the Workers’ Educational Association for the Victoria University College district, and will be stationed either at Palmerston North or Wanganui. Mr. Brailsford was born in Wellington, and was educated at Victoria College, where he received his B.A. degree. lie took up journalism in Wellington and New Plymouth. Going abroad, he was engaged in journalism in California, China, Japan and Melbourne. Mr. Brailsford returned to Now Zealand in 1926, and has since been employed on the literary staff of the Waikato Times, Hamilton.
