DEEP-SEA FISHING
SEASON’S GOOD PROSPECTS (Special to the Herald.) AUCKLAND, this day. 'ilie prospects for deep-sea fishing at Cape Brett are exceptionally good, according to Mr. T. & Withers, who returned to Auckland after spending a few days at the Bay of Islands. “Large schools" of trevalli and kahawai can already he seen-off Piercy Island, and several large mako sharks have already bOen landed by anglers,” said Mr. Withers. “Although swordfish generally do not arrive off the New Zealand coast until January, at least two have been sighted at this early date, and there are indications that big catches may be expected much earlier than usual.”
