Tile picturesque sheet of water on the outskirts of Remuera,'Auckland, known as Lake Waiatarua has vanished. In its place there, is now a sea of silt, and mud ranging in depth from 16ft to 30ft, which at the preterit moment is a happy haunt for hundreds of seagulls. The lake has been drained to develop the park, and when that is finished a ne#F lakelet of 13 acres will be created.
