It is understood that Sir Dudley de Chair's term as Governor of New South Wales has been extended to April. Among the passengers aboard the l’uahine, which was due to-day at Wellington from the United Kingdom, were Mr. C. A. deJjautuur and Miss 0. deLantour, of Gisborne. They are expected to reach Gisborne in a few days. Mr. Huia Hill, of Napier, a member of the New Zealand Society of Accountants, lias received advice of Iris success in completing the final examination for membership of the Australian Institute of Secretaries.

Mr. J. W. Harbord, who is at present on tho staff of the Lower Ilutt Borough Council, has accepted the position ot Town Clerk to the borough of Upper Ilutt in place of Mr. S. Bisli, who resigned owing to ill-health. Captain A. W. Greville, N.Z.5.0., who recently returned from India, is to take up an appointment as weapon training officer in the northern command, and will be stationed in Auckland.

Mowlem,of Napier, who has been in England engaged in post graduate medical studies, and is tilling the position of resident surgical 'Officer at the Woohvieh War Memorial Hospital, one of the most up-to-date institutions ol 1 its .kind in the Moipeland, has received notice that he has successfully qualified by examination for Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (England).
