The Co-operative Building Society will dispose of Joans amounting to £4OO this evening.
A final reminder to purchasers of dairy cows is given by Messrs. Common, Shelton and Co., of the clearing sale to be held to-morrow* at Tolaga Bay on behalf of Mr. A. Donald. On Thursday evening in Liberty Hall at 7.45 o’clock an address on “The Pursuit of Happiness” will be given 'by the Rev. W. Crawford, of Auckland. All who are interested are invited by the Study and Discussion Society to attend.
The Mayor, Mr. D. W. Coleman, has consented to open the annual sale of work in aid of St. Mary’s Convent, which opens in the City Hall on Thursday at 7.30 p.m., and continues on Friday and Saturday. The ladies of the parish have been working assiduously for some time, and it is stated that patrons can rely on securing Christmas novelties, fancy work, children’s clothing, home made sweets, jams, sponges, cakes, puddings and produce, moderately priced.
