AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL ELECTIONS SATURDAY'S POLL BRINGS GREAT SURPRISE PRTMK MINISTER'S OWN" SKAT IX DANGER SEVERAL MINISTERS LOSE THEIR SEATS Tin 1 Australian Federal elections on Saturday resulted in (he Labor Parly being returned to power, apparently with an assured working majority. The Government Party sustained a complete rout. Several Ministers were defeated at the polls, and even the Prime Minister, Mr. S. M. Bruce, is in a doubtful position, his Labor opponent having- a lead on the first count. Recalcitrant members of the Nationalist Parly who forced an election on the Arbitration Court issue, were remarkably successful, Mr. W. M. Hughes being returned with a huge majority over Dr. Nott, and Mr. Marks having a 1)000 lend over bis opponent.
