REMARKABLE FREAK
SIX-LEGGED LAMB (Special to the Hc-rald.) AUCKLAND, this day. A lamb which is claimed to be one of the most remarkable specimens of freak animals existing was horn recently on Mr. L. Lye’s property ou the Thames coast. The lamb was discovered shortly after birth, when it exhibited a peculiar formation and gait. The animal was later found to have six fully developed legs, which were all used in walking. Two extra legs were seemingly attached to normal ones in the body, and were slightly curved near the hoofs. The lamb was perfectly formed from its nose to its forequarters, after which it resembled two lambs encased in one body.
The animal is stated to be healthy and active, and can move about with comparative ease.
