SEA CAPTAIN’S DEATH
7 FOUND DEAD IN ROOM (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night, A retired sea captain, Frederick Joseph Gill, 47, was found dead in a room of his house at 3 Tui street, Devonport, about 8 o’clock to-night. There was a gas tube of a radiator in Ink mouth. The discovery was made by the police, who broke into the house at the request of decoased’s wife, it is understood Gill had been alone in the house all day, his wife having left in the morning. When she returned, the doors were locked and Gill was not to be seen. The Devonport police were then called. Gill had apparently been dead for several hours. He also leaves four children.
