SCHOLAR'S TRAGIC END
BODY FOUND IN THAMES (Australian Press Ass'u.— United Service ) LONDON, August 12. The death is announced of Dr. Hugh MeNaughton, vice-provost of Eton. Dr. McNaughton had a tragic, end. He was a brilliant classical scholar, and had great influence at Eton, where he was educated and had been a master since 1886. He had been in poor health for a year. He disappeared last week, and suicide was feared. Dragging operations in the Thames followed, until the body was found floating near Windsor.
