BRIDGE COLLAPSES
A REMARKABLE ACCIDENT (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, March 30. A most remarkable accident occurred at Cotherstone, near Barnard Castle. The ropes of tho suspension bridge over the Tees snappbd when crowds were crossing from a football match, and the bridge tipped up. Immediately 20 people were thrown into the river, which fortunately was very shallow. , Fifteen were injured by falling on a heap of stones in midstream.
