MENTAL HOSPITAL VILLAS

ERECTION AT TOKANUI Excellent progress is being made with the. erection of threo villas at the Tokanui Mental Hospital, Kihikihi (reports tho Auckland Herald). One villa has been roofed, and workmen are completing the interior plastering. The second villa is ready for tho tiling of the roof, while the walls of the third are in course of construction. It is expected that the three buildings will be complctet by October. There are 60 men employed on the contract.

Accommodation for 150 patients is being provided in the new buildings. Tenders are shortly to be called for the erection of a nurses' home at Tokanui. with accommodation for 65 nurses, and threo villas of the same type as those in courso of erection, are to be built in tho near future.

Tho building programme at Tokanui is expected to provide work for a largo number of men for the next six years.
