C.O.D. SYSTEM
REMARKABLE GROWTH
"The C.O.D. system has grown from £4OOO to £150,000 in seven years, ami •what it will be in another seven years I cannot possibly imagine," said Mr. .1. Sutherland Boss, president of the Dunedin Manufacturers' Association. , Mr. Ross stated that they had been informed that only the International Postal Conference could deal with this matter. As Mr. McNaniara, secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department, was now on his way to the conference in London he certainly thought that, fcsir Joseph Ward should be apf.toiclifd in the natter of instructing Mr. McNaniara tn cut out the system absolutely as far as New Zealand was concerned.
A deputation from the association waited an the Prime. Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, in regard to the matter, but it was held in private and no statement has been issued to the press.
